7 weeks/49 Days to Go

*Random Thought Of The Day:
So I have come up with a life motto! Its for a scholarship I am applying for but I think my motto is pretty brilliant! It is: "Learn while you live, love what you learn". I have been doing a lot of thinking lately. It happens when you get a lot of time to yourself(: I have just been thinking a lot about this coming semester and stuff and how I'm going to change things and be a better person and stuff. But this motto of mine-its really the way I am trying to think about life and its experiences. Life is all about learning and so you might as well make the best of it. [even when it comes to math...in my case!]. There is amazingly SO much that can be learned from every little thing that you do, decisions you make, and things that happen. I decided that in order for me to learn more, I want to take in all the experiences I can get. Especially while I'm young and figuring out life! I am looking forward to it all-especially when it comes to my music. Thats my status on the mysteries of life at the moment.*

In other news and stuff-I have been waiting to get some Brewer reunion pictures to blog and so here are some!

This is me, Brooke and Andrea. Brooke married my cousin Nathan a year ago. Her and I were best friends before so I was even happier when she became my cousin! Andrea and I were pretty much inseperable when we were little and so its always great to see her! I love my girls! Aren't we just adorable?!

Me, Andrea and Tabitha! Andrea and I are WAY goofy when we get together haha!

And then there was....Ultimate Frisbee! That was super fun and man was I totally out of shape!

I had THE most amazing time up in the white mountains! I mean-to the point that I did NOT want to come back to the terrible heat of Mesa! I had a hard time leaving and even more hard time getting back. I had a great time with my cousins, but I also got to see my amazing friends Felicia and Shelly in Snowflake, who I go to school with. I miss all my EA friends so so much!
BUT, this last 7 weeks is already going by fast with my new job. I work nights and so its not bad. The resteraunt is slow tho. But I keep myself busy and during the day I am finding projects and other things to do. Like the aboved mentioned scholarship for example! So-despite my friend-Thatcher-EA-withdrawels last weekend, life is ok. I don't think I will ever move back to the valley however. I'm such a small town girl lol! But yeah, I am making the best of the summer, and if anything, enjoying finally making some dinero! I swear-this is how I feel sometimes! But in this heat-you would die trying to push your car. You might as well just drive the 20 or 30 minutes every day to and from work!
Well-I hope everyone else is having a terrific summer! For now, I'm out!

Fantasies, Dreams, Goals, Plans, Ideas-you name it!

I've [compiled] a list of such things that I have in mind for my life or my future [per se]. In my book, Wild Roses, Cassie calls them "Brief fantasy number_____." Just things I want to do or at least attempt to do. Here is what I've come up with thus far:

Brief Fantasy number 1: I want to go to New York and London before I die. Maybe even Italy.
#2: I want to study music in New York/back East.
#3: I would like to make a cd with one of the LDS recording studios.
#4: I want to be married in the Snowflake Temple.
#5: I'd like to be a music coordinator for movies, or perhaps a studio producer.
#6: I want to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
#7: I'd like to get better at the piano.
#8: I want to learn to play the violin.
#9: I'm going to learn to play guitar.
#10: I want to always be writing music.
#11: I want to be a leader of some kind.
#12: I want to meet Josh Groban and maybe even sing with him.
#13: I want to be a wedding planner.
#14: For my 21st birthday, I'd like to go to either New York or Hawaii.
#15: I want to be in a few more plays/musicals.
#16: I want to direct some big music event, or choir.

Summertime Blues Gone!

*Random thought of the day: "No one pretends to understand musicality, that certain something that a human being brings to the playing of his instrument. A machine can play an instrument [sing a song], but it is that something of yourself that you bring to it that makes a player[singer] really good. That piece of your soul that you reveal as the music comes through you......you may have not words for [music], but you can feel it. There is a communication going on at some ancient and primitive level when music is played from somewhere else other than simply the fingers." -Cassie in "Wild Horses" by: Deb Caletti. Basically I don't know if I have ever heard such a good description of music. I am reading this really awesome book about a girl living with a famous violinist stepfather, Dino Cavalli, who is also completely INSANE. When Cassie meets his very first student, Ian Waters, she falls in love with not just him, but music and the way he plays his violin. The description above is the way she described the music and I love it! I feel the same way. Music is more than just playing or singing. If you're into music as much as I am, you have to feel it and put emotion into it. Otherwise, theres no point to anything with music.*

As the country song by Alan Jackson says, "Well I'm gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a holler, about workin' all summer just to try and earn a dollar.......sometimes I wonder what i'm gonna do, cuz there aint no cure for the summertime blues!"
Well-no more listening to that song everyday(: I GOT A JOB! A new job! Yay! Today I interviewed at a golf resort called "San Marcos Crowne Plaza", and the hired me on the spot as a hostess at the resteraunt there! Good money and full time. So I also put in my 2 weeks notice at Hollister. I am SO happy! I knew something would work out. The Lord always helps us pull through. And paying tithing is really a blessing. I just want to say thank you so much to my parents and my friends and other family for your prayers and support and words of encouragement the last few weeks! A lot of you know its been really rough on me trying to get a good job and have money! So I appreciate all of you!
Its so good to not work at Hollister to be honest. Retail really sucks sometimes. Besides, "Her mother should have named her mastercard" -Zebe in "Wild Roses". I quote that because it reminds me of the rich stuck up high school kids that work at Hollister(:. Eh-whatever. No more discount on clothes but they have really good clearance stuff if I want to shop there.

This week has been pretty busy. I helped my sister with her kids a couple times this week. She is pregnant with her 4th and its not fun sometimes! But I was happy to help with her others and i'll be doing that off and on the rest of the summer as well. I did start going to institute this week to at MCC. Unfortunantly-this new job will probably have me working a lot of nights, so I'm not sure I'll get to go much more....:(. BUT work is vital since I have 9 weeks left til I return to school. At least I still will have church to go to and maybe a few other activities when I can. Institute was awesome though. I got to see my good buddy Sterling who I went to EA with last year. He lives down here as well. The class I went to is called "Doctrines of the Gospel". Just different topics each week. This week was REVELATION. Really awesome insight that the teacher had! I learned a lot.
I also went to the Temple yesterday. I love going. I feel the spirit so much there. I am definantly going to go as much as possible this summer. Life is just crazy back in Thatcher, especially being 3 hours away from both arizona temples.
Well-I better go get some food and start celebrating my new job! Woot woot! Have a great weekend everyone!

Stuff......

Random thought of the day: I got nothing.

I'm slightly irritated right now. Life and money really suck sometimes! Especially when you don't have any. Money that is. Then again-I don't know what "life" I have right now. Ok. I think I can breathe a bit now. Still no better or 2nd job down here. Hollister is giving me MAYBE 8-9 hours a week. They should really think about NOT hiring so many people. I have applied and applied and called and called many other places trying to get something better or a 2nd job but NO SUCH LUCK! My whole paycheck might as well go to gas anyway(: Pray for me people! I have to keep remembering that everything will work out and that my patience is definantly being tried right now. It is just irritating! Ok. I'm done venting now.

In my Singles' ward today, I got called as the Relief Society pianist. (:. Same calling I had in Thatcher. Once a musician, always a musician. I should quit telling people that I play piano. No-its all good. I really haven't been able to really play in a while and I kinda feel at home at the piano. I also decided to join the ward choir. They need someone who can hit the high soprano notes(: Plus the director is pretty dang funny. His name is Dave Johnson and he is totally crazy! But he knows what he is doing with a choir! So it should be fun.
On Friday night, we had a ward dinner date night. It was girl ask guy and since I really don't know any of the guys in the ward real well, Amber, my cousin, set me up with someone named Josh. He was nice. We really didn't have anything in common however, so it was mostly small talk. It was fun being around everyone though. We had dinner and played a couple of games. Fun stuff. I like my ward. Nice people!
Other than that, I didn't do a whole lot this week. I finished Friends! I cried in the last episode! But I was happy too-it had a good ending! Now I need to really watch The Office! [I have way too much time on my hands!] Next weekend my dad and Anne are coming! I'm excited to see them!
Anyway-i'm really tired of writing this blog now, so I'm gonna go! Peace!

I'm in LOVE!

So Basically-I decided I'm not so much in love with Josh Groban anymore. Though-he will always have a place in my heart because he can sing(:
But just look at Topher Grace and his sexy smile! He has the MOST adorable face and I wouldn't mind making out with him(: Jk....sorta.......
I really think he should have just been Spiderman. Forget Toby McGuire! Topher is way hotter!

10 days since...here I am Cassidi!

*Random thought of the day:[This one is just sorta random]
I have found a sudden interest in Politics and the Economy! Wierd huh?! For me it is because I have never really known what was going on in this world or anything about the candidates running for President and such. Now I have taken an interest and have found that I have missed quite a bit! The man I turn to the most to find out this "information", is Glenn Beck. [DID YOU KNOW-Glenn Beck is mormon?!]. He has written a book but has a show once a week[I think]. Its really really interesting. He has a lot of people come onto his show and give their opinions about things ranging from "Man and the future", "afterlife", "politics", etc.....He is one that can really be trusted about those things. So, its about time that I learn what is going on-that way I also know what to do when it comes to voting in November!*

I just realized that it has been a while since I've blogged. I guess its because I have not had too many exciting things going on so I was "waitin for something amazing to happen I guess"-Little boy from The Incredibles. Well nothing too amazing has happened still(:
I am starting to enjoy the valley more though I think. Hollister work is ok. I am getting very little hours there and still trying to find either a better houred job or a 2nd part time job. Pretty much-the Economy does suck right now! Its all good though-I truly have a testimony of paying tithing and fasting. I'm trying hard to be patient with things, financially, and well-patient in general. But its definantly been somewhat of an adventure living down here in Mesa. I did find a singles ward that I'm going to stick to. Its not bad-a lot of really nice people. I have a cousin in the ward so its all good. I'm just hopin to make some new friends and have a social life! Today church was really nice. I always love testimony meeting. And the bishopric caught me and so I am going to go ahead and have my records sent to that ward for the summer. I like it more and more each time I go. Its only been a couple times but its all good! And not to mention-there are some very good looking priesthood holders in the ward(:
Anyway, I definantly am missing my friends and family. But this summer will go by fast I'm sure. As long as I keep busy, I won't go crazy!
Well-hope you all are enjoying your summer as well. Keep in touch! TTFN
